The VP/General Manager of the radio industry service company that's parent to such offerings as XTrends, Analyst and Hook Exchange has announced his retirement. The news comes 25 years after he helped launch Cornerstone Research.

ZTransform, which has in recent years built out studio and office space for broadcast stations including KNKX in Seattle, has hired a new Inside Sales and Procurement Manager. It's a move the company says brings "commercial and operational focus to support performance and scale."

GatesAir — a renowned company in the broadcast industry with a history of powering over-the-air networks worldwide for the past 100 years — has landed in the hands of a new owner. It ends three years of operating as a Thomson Broadcast subsidiary.

The future for Central Pennsylvania's lone NPR member radio station and its PBS-aligned TV station sibling is now clearer, ending weeks of uncertainty for the facilities licensed to Penn State University. The stations are en route to being sold, and Philadelphia's leading educational noncomm entity has come to the rescue. 

Canadian radio stations may no longer need to submit a license renewal application, thanks to a "modernization of radio processes" memorandum released Friday by the CRTC. The Commission also moved forward with a one-year trial allowing the long-desired simulcast of an AM station on the FM band in the same market.

The latest play count report indicating what the most active brands are using Spot TV and Spot Cable are out, and for the week ending October 12, a fast-growing accident attorney specialty law firm and a pharmaceutical brand are the biggest users of Spot TV.

The entertainment system will be available first in the RAV4 vehicle family.
