As public radio begins its new life without federal support through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, NPR executives are adjusting the organization’s budget with Member stations in mind. The NPR board recently met and prepared a balanced budget for the fiscal year that begins October 1, and two big moves are in the works.

Weigel Broadcasting Co., known for such brands as MeTV, Dabl and MOVIES!, is adding to its family of national digital multicast networks with the debut on September 29 of an offering focused on "the all-time greatest Western TV series."

Broadcast TV station owner Sinclair Inc. has issued a statement saying that the indefinite suspension of late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel by ABC is not enough, and is calling on the network — and the FCC, to “take additional action.”

The ABC Television Network late Wednesday confirmed that it is pulling "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" for an indefinite period in response to comments made by the late-night host concerning the man suspected of murdering Turning Point USA founder and prominent conservative Republican Charlie Kirk on September 10 at a Utah speaking event.
