An iconic hip-hop radio brand serving New York for more than 30 years is heading to the television dial. But, don't go expecting to scan it up on TVs in the Tri-State Area. Rather, "HOT 97 TV" is coming at the end of October to the South's largest market.

Urban One has moved ahead with a series of strategic leadership appointments across several major markets at its Radio One broadcast arm, moves the publicly traded company says reinforces its "commitment to developing top talent and delivering excellence across its radio brands nationwide."

ROXi is bringing VJs to the mix. But, they are far from the likes of Martha Quinn, Nina Blackwood, Alan Hunter and Mark Goodman. Instead, they may be more in line with "Tilly Norwood."

As far as Brendan Carr is concerned, the October Open Meeting of the FCC is on, signaling his confidence that the shutdown of the U.S. government will be resolved within the next three weeks.  That may be good news to the roughly 1,000 FCC staff members who received temporary furlough notices last week.

Comcast's FreeWheel streaming advertising platform and Roku are expanding their partnership by bringing activation of the latter's premium Connected TV supply. The pact also creates greater scale for buyers to transact more efficiently with Roku inventory, with a direct path to the FreeWheel Advertiser Suite.
