As June began, a surprise exit from the FCC caught many industry leaders and market observers off-guard: Nathan Simington tendered his resignation. One month later, he has resurfaced at a D.C. think-tank.

Dick Whitworth, a 50-year veteran of Christian-focused faith-based media, is retiring. This opened up an opportunity for Pillar Media, operator of "STAR"-branded Christian Adult Contemporary radio stations in three U.S. markets, to select a new COO. It went with a former iHeartMedia Region President.

In February 2024, the widow of the late Steve Marks signed off on the sale of a group of radio stations located in Glendive, Mont., to an entity led by Managing Member Andrew Sturlaugson. Now, the estate of Mr. Marks is spinning two full-power TV stations and a TV translator property to an educational institution.

It has become an annual tradition in the Nation's Capital, and it will continue in 2025 with law firm Hogan Lovells playing host. The Seventh Annual Former FCC Chairs' Symposium is coming in late July, courtesy of the Multicultural Media, Telecom & Internet Council (MMTC). 

Marketron, a broadcast industry revenue operations and digital advertising technology firm, has reached a product integration agreement with media workflow software firm vCreative. This intertwines the Marketron Traffic product and vCreative’s vPPO platform in new ways.

Nasdaq-traded Auddia Inc. has named the successor to Michael Lawless as Chief Executive Officer. The change comes as Lawless is retiring after 13 years of leading the company and its predecessor, Clip Interactive.

A digital multicast network purveyor that recently named Otto Padrón as its President and COO has appointed a VP of Digital Strategy and Revenue Ops. In this role, an ex-Univision Interactive Media leader will "architect, lead, build and execute Get After It Media's digital growth and revenue strategy.

On Tuesday, broadcast TV company Gray Media announced a private offering of $900 million aggregate principal amount of 9.625% senior secured second lien notes due 2032. One day later, the NYSE-traded company unveiled the pricing of the offering, and it is an upsizing — a mark of success for Gray.
