The FCC has granted a conditional waiver to a Rhode Island town government allowing it to modify its T-Band public safety private land mobile radio (PLMR) system. This will let Tiverton, R.I. operate a second base station some 34.2 miles from an Ion Network station serving Providence owned by The E.W. Scripps Co.

The Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau is reminding Emergency Alert System (EAS) participants of the requirement to submit their Form One identifying information in the EAS Test Reporting System (ETRS) no later than October 3.
