Without structure and a logical flow from one idea to another, your audience may recall little — even if you’re a charismatic speaker. That's what public speaking coach and veteran public relations executive Rosemary Ravinal has to share in her latest column, perfectly timed ahead of the 2025 NAB Show in Las Vegas.

The National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation unveiled the recipients of the 2025 Celebration of Service to America Awards, which recognize local television and radio stations for their outstanding service to their communities across the country. Winners will be honored on June 10 in Washington.

This document amends the Table of FM Allotments, of the Federal Communications Commission's (Commission) rules, by reinstating certain channels as a vacant FM allotment in various communities. The FM allotments were previously removed from the FM Table because a construction permit and/or license was granted. These FM allotments are now considered vacant because of the cancellation of the associated FM authorizations or the dismissal of long-form auction FM applications. A staff engineering analysis confirms that all of the vacant FM allotments complies with the minimum distance separation requirements and principle community coverage requirements of the Commission's rules. The window period for filing applications for these vacant FM allotments will not be opened at this time. Instead, the issue of opening these allotments for filing will be addressed by the Commission in subsequent order.

U.S.-based employers announced 275,240 job cuts in March, a 60% increase from the 172,017 cuts announced one month prior. It is up 205% from the 90,309 cuts announced in the same month in 2024, which was the highest monthly total recorded last year, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas.

With days before the start of the 2025 NAB Show, it is now known that two FCC Commissioners will be appearing at the annual conference and expo, which begins Sunday at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Democrat will be at a North Hall session, while the Republican will appear the next morning.
