This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau. .Heavy rainfall through the Missouri and Mississippi Valleys have cause a small rise on the Mississippi River. The river will rise to flood stage at Cape Girardeau Thursday morning, and fall back below later that day. For the Mississippi River...including Cape Girardeau...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau. * WHEN...From Thursday morning to early Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 32.0 feet, Minor flooding occurs. The Mississippi River backs into several creeks producing flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 31.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 32.0 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
