With the retirement of the FCC's CDBS Public Access website on January 2, 2025, REC has built a website that will replace CDBS Public Access on our own server.
The CDBS Historic Search tool has a similar look and feel to the FCC's retired tool and will include many of the features that the FCC tool had.
CDBS Historic View will only include applications and records that are in the CDBS data and is not a tool recommended to view information on current broadcast facilities that are now being handled through LMS.
There are limitations in the CDBS Historic View system:
- EEO reports are not provided in this initial version. This may be something we will explore in the future.
- For each of the supported search types, some less used filtering options will not be available at this time.
- Listings that would normally result in more than 500 records will be hard limited to 500 returned records in order to prevent server and browser load.
- Links to view broadcast applications will link to their LMS versions where such applications are supported there.
- For the Application Information search, the ALTC (assign license/transfer of control) and Renewal Group searches are currently unavailable. This will be a future enhancement.
- Links to "non-form" application types (such as address changes) is currently not available. This will be a future enhancement.
The CDBS Historic View will integrate some of the other aspects of the CDBS Retirement Project including links to view public notice comments and import letters.
