Broadcast data in the event of a government shutdown

In the event of a government shutdown over the weekend, the FCC plans to take down their broadcast database system.

We have heard this will take place on Monday morning.

UPDATE: A new extension has been approved and should be signed by the President on Saturday. This would extend government activities until next Thursday. If it appears that we are looming another shutdown so late in the week, we will take an unscheduled database update to assure that we have the latest information before the government shuts down.

REC strongly advises licensees who need minor changes, STAs, etc to file them as soon as possible just in case.

REC Networks uses broadcast data from the FCC's system obtained through a bulk feed on Saturday morning.

As long as the system is up on Saturday morning and the FCC has produced their normal extract, we will pick up that data reflecting all transactions up to the close of business on 4/8/2011.

Some links in the broadcast tools may point to FCC resources, those resources may not be available after Monday.

But overall, we plan to have all transactions up to 4/8/2011 in our database and it will remain up after Monday.
