LPFM Channel Points

NOTE: These channel points do not reflect the new translators applied for in the Auction 99 (2017) and Auction 100 (2018) filing windows. This is intended to be an addendum to REC's LCRA compliance study and should not be relied solely on to determine future LPFM availability. We may come out with that functionality later. Stay tuned.

How to use this map

Use the pull down bar to select which market's grid you want to look at. When the channels appear, click on the channel you want or you can use the pull down bar after the market name to select the channel you want to view. "Select channels" on the pull down bar shows the locations used for the calculation of potential LPFM channels in the REC 2018 LCRA 5 Preclusion Study.

You can also put in the geographic coordinates (NAD83) of a translator to draw a circle to show determine if that translator would overlap channel points. You can use fccdata.org to determine the NAD83 coordinates of translators as well as determine which service contour size sub-class the translator is in.

The dots on the map indicate a channel point:
- Channel point where no second-adjacent channel waiver is required.
- Channel point where a second adjacent channel waiver is required and the full power station would likely be at 80 dBu or stronger thus making it easier to get a waiver.
- Channel point where a second adjacent channel waiver is required and the full power station would likely be weaker than 80 dBu thus making it harder to get a waiver.
- Locations used for the calculation of potential LPFM channels in the REC 2018 LCRA 5 Preclusion Study.
