This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected above 6000 feet. Total snow accumulations 6 to 12 inches from 6000 feet to 7000 feet. Total snow accumulations 12 to 24 inches above 7000 feet. Wind gusts as high as 75 mph on exposed ridgetops and along the crest. * WHERE...Kings River north to Yosemite NP, excluding the Yosemite Valley. * WHEN...Valid until 8 AM PDT Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Travel will be extremely difficult. High winds could cause tree damage. Cold wind chill readings as low as 20 below zero may result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
