The strongest winds and critically low relative humidity values Sunday will favor the central mountain chain and northeast highlands westward. Then, relative humidity plummets over eastern areas as well on Monday. Winds will strengthen over central and eastern areas late Monday morning, but not until mid afternoon farther west. ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING... * AREA AND TIMING...The northern and central mountains (Zones 120, 122, and 124) below snowpack, and the Rio Grande Valley (Zones 121 and 106) on Sunday from noon until 10 PM MDT, and from 11 AM until 10 PM on Monday. * 20 FOOT WINDS...On Sunday, south and southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. On Monday, west 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...7-20 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and will be hard to control.
