When LPFM was created, it was done so with a reduced level of regulation. Many rules that apply to full-power broadcast stations such as the requirement for management staff in a main studio and chief operator requirements do not apply in LPFM. The FCC created §73.801 to show which of the regular broadcast rules in addition to the Subpart G (§73.8XX) rules apply to LPFM.
