Updated Network Disruption Notice - Weekend of October 5~6, 2024 (lpfm.us, lpfm.app & fcc.today)

By admin | 11:53 PM EDT, Thu October 03, 2024

This transition is completed.  All three domains are now on System40.

Updated to include information about LPFM.APP.

As a part of the REC System40 transition project, there will be work that will be performed during the weekend of October 5 and 6, 2024 which may disrupt the user experience.

This weekend, we will be transferring LPFM.us, The National LPFM Station Directory, to the System40 server.  For now, the application will continue to receive its data from the Legacy server.  The new version of LPFM.us has been staged on our new server and tested.  This weekend, we will change the DNS records as well as move the SSL certificates to System40.

This weekend, we will be transferring FCC.today, REC's real-time dashboard to the FCC Media Bureau, to the System40 server.  For now, the application will continue to receive its data from the Legacy server.  The new version of FCC.today has been staged on our new server and tested.  This weekend, we will change the DNS records as well as move the SSL certificates to System40.

This weekend, we will be transferring LPFM.APP.  LPFM.APP is the interactive tool that originally received the show of interest requests for the 2023 Third Generation LPFM Window.  The tool is also used to support the 77 applicants who filed through REC, many of whom have already been granted.  The new version of LPFM.APP is scaled down on the inside but still provides access to the same two features that are currently being offered (client portal and client LPFM channel search).  A password is required to access LPFM.APP.  The new LPFM.APP will not be in the Drupal platform.  This weekend, we will change the DNS records as well as move the SSL certificates to System40.

During the transition, users may experience no response from the website, error messages or SSL security warnings on their browser.  The resumption time may vary based on propagation through the internet and the user's browser and DNS cache settings.  If users get a SSL security warning that the site is unsafe, you may go ahead and click the link on the page to access the site insecurely if you wish.  Otherwise, please come back later when everything is in place.

We do not anticipate this to be a very long outage.  The length of time will depend on internet propagation of DNS information as well as the settings and cache of the client browser.

Thank you for your understanding.
