Currently, there are 10 full-service TV stations on Channel 6 across the country. These stations must be protected by applications for full-service NCE FM applications pursuant to §73.525 of the Rules. FM translators and LPFM stations not only have to protect these stations, but also nearly 100 low power TV (LPTV) Channel 6 stations pursuant to §73.825 (for LPFM) and §74.1205 (for FM Translators). In certain situations, LPFM stations can use the §74.1205 translator protections instead of the distance separaiton in §73.825. Contact REC for assistance.
