This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT ACROSS EASTERN NEW MEXICO AND THE UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY LATE WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE... .Southwest winds will increase Wednesday ahead of a disturbance over the Great Basin. 20 foot winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 40 mph, relative humidity falling to or below 10 percent for a few hours, high Haines and dry fine fuels will likely result in critical fire weather conditions late Wednesday morning through early evening. Critical fire weather conditions wane after sunset as winds taper off and relative humidity rises. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Fire Weather Watch...which is in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. * AREA AND TIMING...Upper Rio Grande Valley (Zone 121) late Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with peak gusts of 35 to 40 mph Wednesday afternoon. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Falling to 10 to 15 percent Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
