This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

Mississippi River at Chester. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Chester. * WHEN...From late Tuesday night until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 34.7 feet, The north parking lot at Menard Correctional Center begins flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 19.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Wednesday morning and continue rising to a crest of 34.4 feet early Friday afternoon. - Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
