We have built new functionality into System40 that will obtain new Bluesky API tokens once every 3 minutes for each bot application. This has resolved the rate limiting issue that we were experiencing with our live playlist bots for J1 and Michi-FM. These bots are now running stable. Those bots are located at:
We have created three additional bots.
@quake.j1fm.tokyo - This bot currently sends an update whenever J1 receives a message from the Japan Meteorological Agency to advise of a recent earthquake. A future release will extend this to also include Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) information. Once the future release is in, it will be similar to the service that we used to offer on Twitter/X.
@travel.j1fm.tokyo - This bot sends updates on train delays in Tokyo using the data that J1 already obtains from JR East, the ODPT supported services (including Tokyo Metro, Toei Subway and other municipally operated systems) as well as private railways Keio, Keisei, Odakyu, Seibu, Tobu, Tokyu and Yurikamome. This is similar to our previous Twitter/X offering.
@fcc.today - This is a new bot that was not on our previous Twitter/X offering. This bot will send an update whenever the FCC releases a daily business item such as a public notice, public statement, news release, order, etc.
We are working on other bot concepts in the future.
