eLMS various fixes - July, 2026
We are addressing the issue of the current FCC Registration Number (FRN) not appearing in the header of a facility listing in FCCdata.

With the recent site changes, we had attempted to use a Drupal module to be able to distinguish between desktop and mobile devices for a better presentation to mobile devices. This module turned out to not work as expected. This morning, we changed to a different Drupal module to achieve the same objectives and it appears to be more stable.
This past weekend, we did a refresh on the REC content site home page. For the desktop site, this included adding some of the main links (to FCCtoday, FCCdata and myLPFM) to a more prominent location. Links to the Compliance Guide and Self Inspection Checklists were also added to prominent positions on the front page, On both the desktop and mobile presentations, we have enhanced the Substack articles to also include the image from the last story.
There will be more enhancements made to the mobile site in the future.
Update - June 18, 2025 12:35PM EDT
While there are items that are appearing in the Daily Business section of FCC.today, the links may point to the FCC's EDOCS page with a message "The document you requested is not yet available in this system." or in some cases, may point to a very old document. We are aware of this.
In the REC environment, the relay server acts as a proxy between the FCC and REC. Requests coming from the (now two) content servers to FCC resources such as APIs and data downloads are channeled through the relay server, where the server will reach out to the FCC to get the data and then "relay" it back to be picked up by the content servers. This includes public facing websites, internal tools used within REC and for eLMS.
Recently, REC has been experiencing extremely slow response on all System40 hosted sites across the REC Universe.
We have traced the issue to the Drupal content management system (CMS) software that we use to drive the content front end on recnet.com and fmtranslator.com. The excessive caching that is performed by Drupal has substantially impacted database performance.
To attempt to resolve this issue, we will be migrating recnet.com and fmtranslator.com to a separate VPS server with an SSD solely for the purpose of providing the content on these sites.
Updated the eLMS database and parse rules to accommodate 11 new fields as a result of the Commission updating Form 2100-335-FM to support asymmetric digital audio broadcasting (HD Radio).
Digital notifications are handled by eLMS using the dig flow. No new application type codes were added in this update.
Live testing was successful.

We have addressed several bugs that have been reported or we have encountered with FCCdata.org.
Some amateur radio listings are returning error messages.
Amateur radio listings that are looked up in FCCdata for the first time make a call to the Google Maps API in order to geocode the location. The geocode data is then cached at REC until it is queried again and the address has changed.
Due to many issues, REC had been behind on updating the Enforcement Actions (Dingers) database.
The Dingers database has been now updated adding actions from May 2024 to April 31, 2025. Dingers is back to being actively updated on a daily basis.
Several systems at the FCC have been unavailable for nearly 24 hours as of March 13, 2025 at 6:50AM EDT.
Known systems with issues:
The FCC did not publish a daily digest on March 12, 2025.

On LPFM.us, station listings are categorized based on a visibility status:
We are addressing the trouble reports received regarding myLPFM with the migration to System40.
We have fixed the issue where users were unable to upload images for RadioDNS.
We have fixed the issue where users were unable to upload logos using the "upload logo" function. Once uploaded, the logo may first show as either the previous one or a broken link. Clicking to a different screen should show the newly uploaded logo. This upload will also revise the logo in FCCdata and LPFM.ws
We fixed an issue with FCCdata where the LMS or eLMS database is showing no file number for an application. Users were not able to click on a link to view the application or engineering details. We have modified FCCdata so if there is no file number, FCCdata will show the text NoFileNumber therefore making the item clickable.

FCCdata - AM engineering fix
Fixed an issue where FCC AM records were showing in the engineering section (left side) but no facility details were shown when the item was clicked. This was an issue associated with the recent retirement of CDBS. Records were not properly routing to the legacy BAPS data. This involved making changes to the underlying eLMS AM application list table to remove the references to application IDs assigned by LMS but contain no engineering data.
