NJ Broadcasters: The LCRA Was Not Enough...

By admin | 4:07 PM EDT, Sat September 29, 2012

The FCC has recently ruled against keeping a docket open that would have further restricted LPFM and FM Translators in the state of New Jersey.  In 2004, the New Jersey Broadcasters Association (NJBA) filed a Petition for Rulemaking that would become RM-11099.  Under the NJPA's proposal, the protected service contours of full power stations in New Jersey would be substantially extended where it comes to LPFM and FM translator stations.

New Jersey has always been in a unique situation that because of their geography, many full power stations in and around New Jersey are concentrated in the New York City and Philadelphia markets leaving very few channels available in other parts of the state.

REC Networks is announcing the public beta release of the first modules in myLPFM, REC's new overall LPFM product suite.  Once completed, myLPFM will allow potential applicants to search for a channel, assist in application filing, monitor the progress of filed applications and monitor nearby FCC application activity by other spectrum users.

Today, REC releases myLPFM Search and myLPFM Sites.

myLPFM Search

myLPFM Search is going to be the replacement for the current REC LPFM Channel Search Tool.  myLPFM Search has been developed based on our desire to make LPFM searching more user friendly as well as feedback received by REC from users of the current LPFM Channel Search Tool.  Some of the improvements include:

REC statement regarding AFA's "underground railroad" comments

By admin | 1:44 AM EDT, Thu August 09, 2012

I, like many are very deeply distrubed that any organization, even one that is on the Southern Poverty Law Center's list of hate organizations advocates the commission of a crime, especially child abduction in order to further its cause.  I find it even more distrubing that this organization is also a licensed broadcaster.
