An FM signal covering cities to the east of Phoenix including Mesa, Chandler and rapidly growing Queen Creek, Ariz. — linked to an all-important FM translator atop Shaw Butte in the heart of the Valley of the Sun — is now in the hands of a first-time husband-and-wife ownership team.

The Copyright Royalty Judges who sit on the U.S. Copyright Royalty Board have approved a cost of living adjustment to the royalty rate that certain noncommercial radio stations at secular educational institutions must pay next year. The rates are for stations not affiliated with NPR.
