REC statement on Let The Cities In petition for reconsideration

2026 FM Translator Filing Window. Resources and REC professional services
By admin | 8:12 PM EST, Tue January 08, 2013

REC Networks continues to support the creation of a sub-100 watt (less than 5.6km service contour) LPFM service.  REC is in the process of preparing comments on the Let The Cities In petition.

We are concerned though that this Petition for Reconsideration has been prematurely filed as the LPFM Report and Order has yet to be published in the Federal Register.  At this time, only the Order on Reconsideration regarding the FM Translator issue has been published.

If Let The Cities In files again after publication in the Federal Register, we will make our comments.

Overall, we are concerned that any Petition for Reconsideration that impacts a "pre-grant" function (such as availability and eligibilitty) could put an October, 2013 filing window date at risk.
