REC Networks Reduced and Minimal Operations during the last two weeks of December, 2022

During the last two weeks of December, REC will be in either Reduced or Minimal Operations.  This is normal for the last two weeks of each year.

During Reduced Operations, our support functions will be limited.  Phone support may be unavailable however E-Mail support will be available during this time.  Those with questions or needs should either make their requests through email or through REC EZForms.  Priority will be given to:

  • Current REC clients seeking license to cover of their construction permits (original or modification) originally handled by REC Networks.
  • Requests for resumption of operations for silent stations that are up against a §312(g) deadline (silent over 365 days facing license cancellation).
  • Those seeking license to cover on construction permits (original or modification) facing a construction deadline during the last two weeks of December regardless of who handled the CP application.
  • Requests for Special Temporary Authority/Silent status due to natural or man made disasters.
  • Simple questions and advice requests that require minimal research.

During Minimal Operations, no phone support is available and E-Mail support may be subject to delay.  On Minimal Operations days, we may have limited access to support systems.

  • Simple questions and advice requests that require minimal research without the need to use support systems normally not available on Minimal Operations days.

Work on existing client applications requested and paid for prior to this period will still be worked on.

The current operational status will be posted on the home page of the REC website.

During the last two weeks, REC will be engaged in the annual LPFM station inventory.  This is a process where we search for LPFM station information through various public resources for visibility in order to update the National LPFM Station Directory at LPFM.us.  As previously announced, this year's inventory and full listings on LPFM.us will be limited to:

  • Any LPFM station that is currently signed up to myLPFM.com, regardless of whether they are an REC client or not.
  • Stations that have had a past client relationship with REC Networks, regardless of minimum spend.
  • Stations that have received advocacy support from REC Networks in the past.
  • Other stations, which are visible, which in the opinion of REC Networks, provides a unique radio service and is benificial to the showcase of the LPFM radio service.

All LPFM licensees (regardless of above status) that had assignments during 2021 and 2022 will have their organizational segment codes reevaluated and modified to reflect the nature of the assignee's organization.

During this period, we will be preparing pleadings in MB Dockets 22-337 (Table of Allotments, Dennison, Ohio) and 22-339 (EAS Alerting Security).

We may also be conducting some mid-week system maintenance.  There are no specific heavy maintenance projects scheduled.

REC and the FCC will be closed on Monday, December 26 and Monday, January 2 in observance of Christmas Day and New Years Day respectively.

REC expects minimum operations on Friday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 27 due to forecasted extreme weather.

Barring any extreme weather, REC expects to return to normal operations on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Thank you for your support in 2022 and we look forward to what 2023 has to offer.

As always, if you have any questions or needs, please let us know!
